Victorian Satin Glass Vase, Diamond Quilted Design, Stunning

Description

A superb Victorian Satin burnt orange, quilted, cased glass vase. The vase has a frilled top and a diamond quilted air trap design. It is a beautifully smooth vase, perfect to add to a collection.

First produced in the 1880's Satin Glass was very popular during the Victorian era. The glass was dipped in acid to give a dull, silky, matt finish. This was then either left blank, or decorated with enamelled designs, or coupled with an Air Trap design, such as diamond quilting or herringbone.

Condition

The vase is in very good vintage condition. There are several small inclusions within the glass, these would have occurred during the glass-making process. This is a wonderful piece of Victorian glass.
