Elegant Wedgwood "Dancing Hours" Bowl, Black Dipped, Stunning

Description

A magnificent Wedgwood dipped black bowl on white jasper with the wonderful Dancing Ladies. There was only limited dipped production after WW2.

The ‘Dancing Hours’ is probably the most famous of all Wedgwood’s relief subjects. It is believed to be the work of John Flaxman, however positive proof is lacking. It is a stunning bowl.

This bowl is marked WEDGWOOD, Made in England. 

Condition

The bowl is in very good condition. There is one small split in the relief on one ladies skirt and one ladies arm (Photo 5). There are a couple of tiny marks on the bowl. This is a wonderful bowl.
