An imposing, high gloss, Wedgwood black basalt Taurus The Bull. Modelled by Arnold Machin in 1945, this bull dates from the 1960's and has an impressed mark Wedgwood, Made in England.
Arnold Machin 1911-1999 was a British sculptor, coin and stamp designer.
Black Basalt is a hard black vitreous stoneware, named after the volcanic rock basalt, manufactured by Josiah Wedgwood from about 1768.
Condition
Very good condition.
Photography has been difficult due to the very high gloss, the white marks are just light reflections on the bull.
