Description

A wonderful antique Ridgways children's tea set.  Called 'Humphrey's Clock", the set features scenes from Dickens "Old Curiosty Shop".

The design was originally introduced by William Ridgway, it was re-introduced as children's china in 1895.

A pretty blue and white children's tea set.

The set consists of:

1 teapot

1 sugar bowl

1 milk jug / creamer

4 cups, saucers and plates

All pieces except the cups have a backstamp. The creamer is just marked England.

Condition

Overall the set is in very good condition. The teapot has a small chip on the rim. Two plates have small underglaze chips, obviously a manufacturing issue. One is under the plate the other very small on the rim. One cup has some interior crazing.

This is a lovely antique children's tea set.
